This Philips CD player sits at the intersection of retro and elegance. It's from ~2003 and looks really good for something from 2003.
The speakers work great, and the only drawback is that the CD player has trouble with burned CDs. (I think that a thorough cleaning of the inside of the machine would fix it, but I do not have the time or energy right now.)
